With preparations continuing for the upcoming FISU 2026 Padel event in Malaga, an important step in the organisation process recently took place with an inspection visit from Brian Carrer, representative of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), and Silvia Jover and Jyotis Gopal, representatives of the International Padel Federation (FIP) to the Spanish city.

During the visit, FISU and FIP officials met with members of the local organising committee to review operational planning and assess the readiness of key venues that will host the competition in Malaga. Discussions focused on accommodation, competition facilities, athlete services, logistics and the overall event programme.

The inspection included visits to the padel venues and supporting facilities that will be used for the tournament. Accommodation options for athletes and officials were also reviewed, ensuring that participants will benefit from convenient access to competition sites and the vibrant sporting environment of Málaga.

Members of the organising committee presented updates on the event schedule, competition format and complementary cultural activities designed to enhance the experience for university athletes from around the world. The event aims to celebrate the rapid global growth of padel while strengthening international connections through university sport.

The FISU 2026 Padel event will bring together student-athletes, university representatives and sport leaders, reinforcing the role of university sport in promoting collaboration, cultural exchange and sporting excellence on a global stage.
