General information 13 July 2026

The inaugural FISU World University Championship Padel 2026 officially came to a close with the Closing Ceremony and Medal Presentation, bringing together participating delegations, student-athletes, officials and event partners to celebrate the conclusion of the championship.

Among those attending the ceremony were Cristóbal Moreno, Chair of the Local Organising Committee; Daniel Pérez, General Director of Sports of Málaga City Council; Mehmet Gunay, Member of the FISU Executive Committee; Silvia Jover, Competitions Coordinator at the International Padel Federation (FIP); Javier Rodríguez, President of the Spanish Padel Federation; and José Pérez, President of the Andalusian Padel Federation.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the recent wildfire in Almería. It was followed by the traditional Parade of Nations, during which volunteers carried the flags of all participating countries.

The programme continued with the medal presentations, recognising the champions and medallists of the women’s, men’s and mixed competitions and celebrating the achievements of student-athletes throughout the week.

During the closing remarks, the organisers thanked all participating teams, officials, volunteers and partners for contributing to the success of the inaugural championship and wished the delegations a safe journey home. The ceremony concluded with the event’s motto, which reflected the spirit of the competition throughout the week: “Padel is life, university padel is life!”

As the first edition of the FISU World University Championship Padel, the event brought together more than 120 student-athletes representing around 20 countries, marking an important milestone in the continued growth of padel within the international university sports movement.
